Social Networking is a valuable part of any online marketing campaign.
Essentially, you make friends with people in your area. These people may be interested in you, your products and services. You let them know about new developments in your industry, your business, up-coming events, specials you may be running etc. etc. etc.
Social networking is usually not very time consuming. There is no need to duplicate content among the networks, because with most of them, you can cross link anyway.
The one thing to keep in mind is that in the USA, the only motor company that has been using social networking as part of its marketing strategy is the Ford motor company. Now, it really doesn’t matter whether you like Fords or not. The bottom line is they are also the only American motor company that did not have to ask for a squillion dollar bail-out during the financial crisis. Enough said!
